Wunderlist was purchased by Microsoft in 2015 and turned into Microsoft To-Do in 2017, but people never forget the wonders that Wunderlist brought us. So we've put together the to-do apps that ooze Wunderlist vibes and ones that you could come to replace it.
Wunderlist was much loved. A moment of silence for it as we zoom forward almost a decade since Microsoft acquired it for (allegedly) over $100M.
Even now, people are seeking that same feel, that same look & that same vibe that they miss from the good old' Wunderlist days.
Here are some of the things that drew people to it (back in the day):
Easy to use - It was never complicated Wunderlist so millions used it without the need to learn it.
Relaxing Themes - The ones that people loved were the relaxed backgrounds of scenery and cities.
In our recommendations, we'll aim to meet these criteria - but bear in mind, the world is much more focused on AI & power features in the world of task management.
A project management tool might not solve your desire to replace Wunderlist, it's got to be a to-do app with personal features & personalized functions.
There's no better like for like alternative to Wunderlist than Superlist.
From the same creators, a lot of the same original team & 10 years on. Wunderlist is re-born with this. Many of the features and themes still feel the same, but the focus is all about handling your tasks, managing projects with teams and note-taking alongside your to-do list. Inside of Superlist, you can add tasks to an inbox, organize them for upcoming items or use the notes area to help build out a checklist all the way to managing a meeting agenda. You can use AI to help form lists, import tasks from apps like Microsoft To-Do (great if you were a mover to this, but hate it) and even use an AI powered meeting note taker.
The team thought with "Wunderlist 2.0" - let's go bigger, bolder and more team-facing with the release.

Let's zoom back to October 2016, a year after the announcement of the purchase of Wunderlist.
Zenkit To-Do arrived on the scene. It brought a lot of the features that Wunderlist offered, even the themes that it was well-known for and scooped up a lot of the market that were scared that what happened to Sunrise (Microsoft) would happen to Wunderlist. The to-do app is part of the Zenkit ecosystem, that includes project management tools, note-taking apps and more. It allows you to add tasks, manage progress, share lists with others, and help you manage smart lists.
Zenkit To-Do on paper is one of the closest alternatives. But it does lack the design that Superlist offers, it's almost like To-Do (Zenkit) is stuck in 2017, but works for some people getting that authentic feel.
Create and share lists.
Handle up to 10,000 tasks in free plan.
Easy to use collaborative abilities.
Comes with customizing themes that are similar to Wunderlist.
It feels like Wunderlist's exact vibe.
Works well and connects with Zenkit's ecosystem.

For sharing & more power features, it's 4EUR per month.
Reasonable pricing for the upgrade.
TickTick is probably the best to-do app, all-round for those looking to replace Wunderlist.
To be honest, it isn't the exact vibes on Wunderlist, but what it does do well is create helpful features that almost feels like Wunderlist would have made it. You can manage tasks, create smart lists, share it with others, change the themes (so many fun themes), and use even more powerful features like calendar modes in premium. They also have habit tracking functions and the ability to set a pomodoro timer. Let's just say for arguments sake, Wunderlist was still here, this is certainly how they would have evolved and many people love the fun, creative vibe that TickTick have gone after (very Wunderlist-esque).
Good for managing tasks & lists.
Has lots of good customized themes (interactive) ones.
Calendar & Kanban modes.
Track habits and set pomo timers all-in-one.
They pack a lot into this app.
Free to use.
The premium is $3 per month (annual)
This is reasonable and approachable for many to upgrade to.
Many people have been seeking a planner, a way to see their tasks & goals in one place.
For Wunderlist users, you could create a list, but never create a dedicated goals area. Griply could be your bet if you like planning your goals, life areas and habits in one place, alongside tasks. This app is becoming popular for that very reason. Handling those goals alongside tasks is a great way to say focused and in view of what's next and what you should be focusing on. Griply feels well built, similar in relaxed design and has a good set of features that we think Wunderlist ex users will enjoy.
Good for task management.
Comes with a great-looking layout.
The perfect place for tracking goals & habits.
Much-loved by user based and reasonable pricing plans.
It is free to use, but has limited features.
$29.99 is the yearly pricing, but lifetime is available too (subject to change).
AnyDO is one of the popular mobile friendly Wunderlist alternatives.
This one rocks on the go, it has an Android and iOS app that has calendar and to-do list management. Yes it was available around the time that Wunderlist was popular, but the last few years, it has been growing steadily and adding more team functionality to it. You can now manage lists, share Kanban, see a web calendar experience and so much more since it just ruled the App Stores. It now has millions of users, and is regarded as very good for list management. It has a clean, minimal look that a lot of people get on with, and has some colour scheme themes (but no city or scenery backgrounds).
These are also good Wunderlist alternatives that you could explore:
