Notion has recently announced several significant updates to enhance user experience, primarily focusing on improving the search functionality.

The first major update is an improved search feature, which now includes page previews. This enhancement provides users with a sidebar in the search menu, displaying previews of each result's contents along with information about its creation and last edited state. This feature aims to streamline the process of locating specific documents, eliminating the need to remember exact names or confirm their existence.
Page previews, Notion has integrated metadata labels into the search results. These labels offer helpful context about the pages, such as verification status, current popularity, or most-viewed status within a workspace. This update is expected to make search results more informative and relevant to users, enhancing the overall usability of the platform.
Lastly, Notion has introduced several other notable features. These include enhanced @-mention and link suggestions, ensuring that the most relevant results appear first. Furthermore, the platform now indexes text within database properties, allowing this content to appear in search results. A significant addition is the introduction of Command Search, which can be activated with ⌘/ctrl + shift + K, enabling users to search within Notion from anywhere on their computer. This feature streamlines the search process, making it more efficient and user-friendly.
