A lot of "self-love+mantra+affirmations" non-sense

I tried this app but I couldn't escape the "self-love+affirmations" thing I hate. I wanted simple guided meditation without any of the "tell yourself how good you are" CBT type thing. Some courses and sessions were good like the introductory ones and it's good that it includes some video lessons in the form of conversations. But the focus on affirmations ruined the experience for me. PS: Interface is also good.

Good app - Free gives me what I need

I like that the app takes the approach of "courses" or training as a core part or the app. I read the books "10 Percent Happier" and "Meditation for Fidgety Skeptics." The later is what finally encouraged me to give meditation a try. The point that really changed my perspective was if I were able to take a pill that would make me 1, 2, 5 percent happier, would I take it? If so, how much would I pay for it? Then how much would I pay in time. So, I gave it a try and it really helps. This app is not a perfect tool to bring someone into a "live, laugh, love" world-view; however, it does a great job at helping someone understand meditation, what it is, what it isn't, and how to practice it to help bring more control and happiness to the brain/life. It's a great practice. The app does try to heavily promote paying for it, but it's not necessary. The paid version does have a lot more access, but the free version is enough to get people going.
