Effective, lightweight, but not great

If you need a tracking system, JIRA can get you there. There are an incredible amount of opportunities with this tool when you consider the add-ins. That being said, the back-end data is rather complex and based on pretty old architecture. What should take minutes, takes hours of trying to figure out how things connect, even with a manual. It does have great integration with email and AD-based systems to help with authentication, security, and notifications.
